What is the L.C.O method?

Learning how to properly care for your natural hair can seem overwhelming with the many different products and techniques out there to try. The L.C.O method breaks it down into three easy steps for you to do using the My Bayou Nola’s hair product line. Making a great start to a healthy hair journey. It is perfect regardless of where you are in your natural hair journey and for hair types including 3A to 4C curl pattern. All you need for the L.C.O method are three products: (L)eave-in, (C)ream, and (O)il.

The Ultimate L.C.O Guide

Before beginning the L.C.O method it is important to start with clean hair. The build-up of products and oils can prevent your hair from absorbing the nutrients and the moisture your hair needs. Begin using any My Bayou Nola shampoos like Neu Hydrating Shampoo or Black Ace Detox Shampoo. These shampoos work to gently remove any unwanted impurities without stripping your hair of its natural oils.

Once you have rinsed your hair thoroughly, follow up with one of My Bayou Nola conditioners to hydrate and condition your curls before beginning your L.C.O routine.

Step One – Leave-in

The first step of the L.C.O method is to apply a (L)eave-in conditioner. Applying a leave-in first installs moisture into your hair. My Bayou Nola’s Hey Mae Leave-in conditioner has a formula of rose oil, jasmine oil, and vitamin b5. Rose and jasmine oil infuse each hair strand with moisture, while vitamin b5 strengthens and rebuilds the hair shaft. Be sure to apply your leave-in to damp to saturated hair to allow your curls to absorb and retain moisture. To make application easier separate your hair into four sections and apply Hey Mae Leave-in conditioner starting at the ends and working your way to the roots. Then comb through the leave-in to make sure it is distributed evenly throughout your head.

Step Two – Cream

The next step of the L.C.O method is to apply a (C)ream. Applying a cream acts as a protective layer for your hair. It also defines your curls, restores moisture, and adds shine to your hair. Follow up with My Bayou Nola’s Bayou Tease Hair Moisturizer by applying it to each section and combing it in to distribute evenly. It is enriched with mango butter, shea butter, almond oil, olive oil, and grapeseed oil to help define and moisturize your curls, kinks, or coils.

Step Three – Oil

Finally, the last step of the L.C.O method is (O)il. Applying an oil brings the whole L.C.O method together by locking in the moisture. Making sure your curls stay moisturized, frizz-free, and shiny until your next wash day. My Bayou Nola’s My Goodness Growth Oil is the perfect sealing oil to preserve your natural hair. It is packed with nourishing oils like avocado oil, jojoba oil, olive oil, and almond oil to strengthen and protect each hair strand.

Way to go!!! You have completed your L.C.O routine to style your hair as desired. Whether you leave it as a wash n’ go and show off your beautiful, defined curls, coils, or kinks or do a protective style.
